Open their backyard, recreation room or porch for the club. Help invite boys and girls to the club, showing the children where the club will be held. (Printed instructions are available through the local CEF office). Help write down the children's names, addresses and other information. Prepare a simple snack for the children. In some cases sit with the children during the club and help solve discipline problems that may occur. Say goodbye to the children and encourage them to attend the next day. On the last day of the club, remind those who have received correspondence courses to fill them out and mail them in. A host family is a respected, friendly family concerned about the spiritual welfare of the children in their neighborhood. They are willing to be used of God to win children to Christ.
Many of the clubs are taught by high-school and college-age youth. Christian Youth In Action® (CYIA®) is a Child Evangelism Fellowship® (CEF®) program where youth from various local churches come together for intensive training and then conduct clubs all summer. Many are fully suuported by their churches, 5-Day Clubs are also taught by comcerned Christian adults who have received comparable training. |
