Robert DeBruin, Indiana State Director of CEF, is the interim Director of CEF of Southern Indiana. Robert was born as #6 of 11children in Gouda, Holland in a nominal Christian family. At age 20 he received Christ with the help of the Navigators and the tract “Four Spiritual Laws” of Campus Crusade. Two years later Robert understood that God wanted him to be involved in missions. He got his degree in Elementary Education and a diploma from the European Bible Institute in France. In 1985 he joined the mission organization Operation Mobilization and served on the ship Logos until it shipwrecked off the coast of Chile in January 1988. In 1989 he came to the United States to become the warehouse manager of OM's literature warehouse in Waynesboro, Ga. In 1996 Robert changed mission agencies because he loves children and found out that most believers come to Christ at a young age. He joined Child Evangelism Fellowship and after a year as local director went to the Children's Ministry Institute in Warrenton, Mo. There he met an instructor from Indiana named Marty Martin. As a widow she had been praying for six years for a mate. Marty and Robert were married on August 16, 1997 and reside in Indianapolis. Since 1999 Robert has been state director. Since December 2004 he also has started overseeing the CEF ministry in the states of Illinois and Wisconsin and the metro area of Chicago.
